EL ORIGEN DE PRIETO PARIENTE

Very old and unique vineyards of the Paramos of Valladolid have been selected in order to create a complex and bright wine. El Origen de Prieto Pariente is fluid, with volume and structure.

VARIETIES

The grape varieties are 75% Tempranillo; 20% Grenache; 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.


TEMPRANILLO

The Tempranillo grapes come from vineyards located in the villages of Mucientes, Pedrosa del Rey and Valbuena de Duero.

MUCIENTES

Soil. Sand, limestone and clay, resting on clay and loam.
Year of planting of the vineyard. 1924
Yield. 2200 kg/ha

PEDROSA DEL REY

Soil. Sediments of sandstone, clay and Pliocene limestone. On the surface it is shown as brown soils on unconsol-idated material.
Year of planting of the vineyard. 1945
Yield. 2800 kg/ha

VALBUENA DEL DUERO

Soil. Layers of silty or clayey sands. Alter-nating layers of limestone and marl, as well as chalky concretions.
Year of planting of the vineyard. 1945
Yield. 3000 kg/ha

GARNACHA

The Grenache grapes come from the same vineyard as the Tempranillo of Pedrosa del Rey.

CABERNET SAUVIGNON

The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes come from a small vineyard in the Valley of Salvueros, located in Mucientes (Valladolid). The plantation dates back to 1950.


WINEMAKING

Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with controlled temperature, and malolactic fermentation, both in tanks of stainless steel. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 17 months in French oak barrels, both old and new ones, of 225 and 500l.
